Pavilions Hotel Group Begins To Accept Crypto As Payment

The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, a high-end international boutique hotel group, has just announced that it will begin accepting cryptocurrency for its hotel bookings starting this Wednesday.

According to the press release, the company will partner with crypto payment services provider Coindirect to allow customers to book rooms with more than 40 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and ethereum.

“Allowing this flexibility in payments combined with security and peace of mind for our guests is the next step in personalized and bespoke services,” said Pavilions’ founder and owner Gordon Oldham.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Pavilions own a portfolio of 14 properties in Europe and the Asia Pacific region, including locations in Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, Bali, Thailand, Mongolia and the Himalayas.

Pavilions is not the first hotel group to enable cryptocurrency payment.

Kessler Collection, a luxury hotel group in the United Stated, also started to accept cryptocurrencies for bookings earlier in March. The group owns a number of hotels across the U.S., such as the Beaver Creek Lodge, Casa Monica Resort & Spa, Elliot Park Hotel, Grand Bohemian Hotels Asheville and Charlotte and more.
